The last tax reform in Belgium for 2016 has led to a number measures that are also affecting the sector of building and renovation. From now on a building must be at least 10 years old for renovation costs of the building to benefit from the reduced value added tax (VAT) rate of 6%. Until now the rule to benefit from a tax reduction was that the building must be at least five years of age.
